WHAT IS IT EXACTLY?
Cosmetic Tattoos are a form of tattooing that focuses on cosmetic enhancements. Types of cosmetic tattooing include, but are not limited to: scalp micro pigmentation, eyebrows, lip color, eyeliner, freckles/beauty marks, and areola repigmentation. Unlike traditional body art tattoos, cosmetic tattoo artists are trained to work very shallow in the upper dermis of the skin. This is how we achieve crisp & precise results that heal quickly and fade gradually over time.

IS COSMETIC TATTOOING PERMANENT?
Although some artists like to market their services as "semi-permanent", Cyprus Cosmetic Collective stands firm in our education to remind clients that cosmetic tattooing is a permanent technique. Although your tattoo will fade and requires touch ups, it is not something that will disappear completely. Most folks with cosmetic tattoos can attest that services like this last well up to 5 years, if not more depending on each client's skin type and technique used.

HOW IS IT DONE?
We use two different methods at Cyprus Cosmetic Collective:
MANUAL: Using sterile, single-use hand tools to create hair strokes and/or pixels. We use this method for Microblading and beauty marks.
MACHINE: Using digital or rotary tattoo machines to create lines. hair strokes, and/or pixels. This is used for brows, eyeliner, and lips.

WHO SHOULD CONSIDER IT?
ANYONE WHO...
- Wants to enhance their features
- Finds makeup to be frustrating
- Wants to create more gender affirming features
- Needs to save time and energy in their daily routine
- Has a lifestyle that makes wearing/maintaining makeup difficult (think healthcare workers, athletes, on-call workers, always-on-the-go folks, new parents, or business owners)
- Has unsteady hands or poor eyesight that makes it difficult to apply makeup

WHEN'S THE RIGHT TIME?
Whenever you're totally, 100% ready! Most clients debate for a few months to a couple of years before committing. Cosmetic tattooing is not for everyone and it is not something to rush into. When you feel fully informed, trust your artist, and can commit to aftercare... it's time!
